New music comes in many forms, and string-rock quintet Darlingside (featuring a cello & violin!) has the sound that spans the ages. They will return returned to the Room at Rebel Sound Records , April 30 at 7pm with Awkward Ending, Matt Anish and The Grown Up Noise! RSR is located at 146 North Street. They always feature both local and cutting edge music and admission is usually a paltry $8, or $7 with student id. Everyone is welcomed. They pick great music. Give a listen:

Darlingside is a string-rock quintet recently settled in Northampton, MA. The band formed at Williams College, where they released their first studio EP and shared the stage with such acts as Guster, The Format and The Ken Oak Band (Oak and Gorski). Darlingside’s sound is characterized by elegantly crafted cello-violin duets, soaring harmonies, catchy hooks and compelling beats.

Darlingside plays a delightful array of instruments.

If you can’t catch them April 30, they will be at House Party in Brattleboro May 1 (Saturday) night and in Harvard Square at Mayfair in Cambridge Sunday May 2.

They will be back in Northampton on May 22 at the Iron Horse Music Hall. They are a happening group. They are still unsigned.
