Kevin Sprague has outdone himself with some of the most exciting theatrical images ever seen in the Berkshires. The images are compelling and have been taken to document the Barrington Stage Company production of Sweeney Todd,. In previews now, the official opening is but days away, Wednesday, June 23 on the Main Stage.

Update 6/21: Read our interview with Julianne Boyd about Sweeney Todd. Click here.

Sweeney Todd is just the latest in a long line of great musicals by Stephen Sondheim that have been a Julie Boyd obsession since she founded BSC. Over the years she has tackled A Little Night Music, Company, Follies, West Side Story and now the monster production of Sweeney Todd.

Seen in the slide show are Jeff McCarthy as Sweeney, Harriet Harris as Mrs. Lovett, plus Traci Blair, Zachary Clause, Ed Dixon, Analisa Leaming, Jaime Rosenstein, Timothy Shew, Sarah Stevens and Shonn Wiley.

If you want to see this production, and be assured the best possible seats, I suggest you not delay, but order them now, before the reviews come out. The early birds and subscribers get the best seats. With a full cast plus a 9 piece band in the pit, it’s going to blow the roof off the house and likely sell out not only the weekend performances, but many of the weekday ones as well.
