Yankees All-Star Bernie Williams is a classically trained Latino jazz star

Bernie Williams is perhaps more recognized by baseball fans for playing all 16 years of his career for the New York Yankees, winning four World Series and holding an overall .308 batting average. He has more post-season RBI’s to his credit than any other player in Major League history. In 2003, Williams released his first album, The Journey Within. The record, featuring jazz, rock and the tropical rhythms, garnered both critical praise and chart success, reaching number three on Billboard’s “Contemporary Jazz Chart.” His 2009 release, “Morning Forward” features guest artists John Secada, Mike Stern, and Bruce Springsteen. It was nominated for a Latin Grammy as Best Instrumental Album.
