Silence! The Musical is a parody of the film SIlence of the Lambs and one of the best off-Broadway shows you can see this year.

Silence! The Musical is the funniest show to come down the pike in ages. It earned a totally rave review from Berkshire on Stage, the critic (here), even going so far as to say it should run forever. Some Manhattanites are addicted and have seen it several times, it’s funnier with each viewing. You should see it too, as long as a little spoofing and strong language – just like in the film – doesn’t get your panties all in a bunch. It has great songs, great characterizations, and one of the most spellbinding plots ever devised.

And with Randy Harrison added to the already fabulous cast, and a move to the Elektra theatre at 673 Eighth Avenue (Between 42nd and 43rd) plus deeply discounted tickets, what’s keeping you from seeing it! Click to Save

Randy Harrison (l) has joined the cast of Silence! The Musical and is seen here with Jenn Harris who plays Agent Clarice Starling.

The official description goes something like this. “Theater Mogul presents the award-winning Silence! The Musical, created by Jon and Al Kaplan as a parody of the 1991 Academy Award-winning thriller Silence of the Lambs. The project began in 2003 as an internet musical and became so popular that it was turned into a live show. It premiered at the 2005 Fringe Festival, where it won “Outstanding Musical.”

This wickedly amusing satire is strung together by a chorus of fluffy lambs who narrate the action as the creepy killer Buffalo Bill steals women to make himself a ladysuit and the intrepid rookie FBI agent Clarice Starling matches wits with the evil, cannibalistic mastermind Hannibal Lecter to gain information that will help her identify and catch Buffalo Bill. The performers dance and sing their way to a finale that will have you rolling in the aisles and biting your nails at the same time.
