Blythe Danner (r) and Melanie Lynskey (l) appear together in the film “Hello I Must be Going.”

The Williamstown Film Festival (WFF) and Images Cinema will team up on a special one-night-only screening of Hello I Must Be Going, a new film starring Blythe Danner, John Rubinstein, Melanie Lynskey, and Christopher Abbott.

Written by Sarah Koskoff and directed by Todd Louiso, Hello – which opened this year’s Sundance festival and will be released in August – is a blend of fizzy comedy, family drama, and unconventional love story. It revolves around a vulnerable recent divorcee (Lynskey) who moves back to the upscale Connecticut home of her parents (Danner, Rubinstein) and finds herself embarking on an affair with a 19-year-old actor (Abbott).

Hello will screen at Images (50 Spring Street, Williamstown) on Sunday, July 1st at 7:00pm. Ms. Danner, who is returning to the Williamstown Theatre Festival to perform in The Blue Deep, will attend the screening and do a Q&A with WFF executive director Steve Lawson after the film.

“I’m thrilled that Oscilloscope Pictures, the distributor, is letting WFF and Images do this very special event,” says Lawson. ” It’s serendipity that Blythe is back at WTF this year, and that she’ll be able to attend the film and take questions. She’s been on our advisory board for a long time, has always wanted to do something with WFF – and now she is! This’ll be a swell night in the tradition of past off-season screenings at WFF like The Illusionist, Rocket Science, and God Grew Tired of Us.”

Tickets are $12 – $10 for Images members – and may be reserved in advance by calling (413) 458-1039. The proceeds from this event will equally benefit WFF and Images.
