The little city may be the home of contemporary art, but its long-time residents are experts at something else: the Christmas Holidays. While there is a lot happening all over the Berkshires during December, we pick Sunday, December 9 as the ideal day to visit North Adams and share in some free and low cost seasonal fun. We just love the movie Home Alone and it’s being screened for free by the new managers of the North Adams Movieplex. Lots more follows as the afternoon and evening unwind:

The 31st Annual North County Christmas Concert First Congressional Church in North Adams 134 Main Street 4pm Click here for more information. Glenda Phillips will be directing, and Dr. Matthew McConnell will accompany on piano and organ. Special guest musicians include Chuck Cahoon (bagpipes), and Deborah Simons (flute and clarinet). The Choir will sing a variety of contemporary and traditional holiday arrangements, and will even feature a children’s choir in addition to the All Saints’ Handbell Choir. The concert is free, but donations at the door benefit local food pantries. Join us, and get into the holiday spirit! |

Enjoy a performance of Fireside Yuletide. “Fireside Yuletide” includes dramatic readings of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. Featured actors include: Josh Baker, Marissa Carlson, Tim Mangun, Annie Pecor, Courtney Shapiro, Liz Urban, Amy Van Dusen, Charlie Waltermire, and Gabby Waltermire. The production also includes singing of classic holiday songs. Festive holiday refreshments will be served. |
