Spring is in the air as FreshGrass, MASS MoCA’s three-day early Fall festival of bluegrass and roots music on September 16-18, 2016 in North Adams, Massachusetts, prepares to announce the first wave of bands for its 2016 lineup on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. The announcement will be made to the press and to FreshGrass fans via a news release and on its website (freshgrass.com) and through social media.
Tickets for the 2016 festival are available at 2015 prices through March 15. Ticket prices will increase with the lineup announcement on March 16. FreshKids offers opportunities for family music-making, art projects, shade, and snacks. In addition to kid-centric pop-up concerts with FreshGrass festival musicians, we’ll be making some instruments.
Inside the museum, Kidspace at MASS MoCA is the museum’s child-centered art gallery. Visit the Psychic Karaoke station in the exhibition Walk in My Shoes.
Kidspace at MASS MoCA will move its ArtBar to the outdoors, with a variety of fun art projects in the FreshKids Tent where you can join the beards and braids bonanza.
FreshGrass spotlights an exciting array of traditional and cutting-edge bluegrass, tucked into a 19th-century factory turned 21st-century museum in the Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts. An opportunity for enthusiasts to both appreciate and participate, FreshGrass is family-friendly and brimming with the brightest talent on four stages, and also in galleries and brick-lined courtyards, and on grassy fields.
