Holidays at Helsinki Hudson offers Hedda Lettuce and Holidelic with Everett Bradley

You can always count on Helsinki Hudson to come up with some pretty spiffy – and unusual – holiday offerings, and this year is no different.

Once again the holiday-funk spectacular Holidelic – the brainchild of Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, actor and dancer Everett Bradley – will usher in the holiday season at Club Helsinki Hudson, this year with a two-night stand on Saturday December 10, 2016 at 9pm, and Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 8pm.

So how can you top that? With an encore show with Hedda Lettuce, the self-described “world’s first and premiere eco-friendly drag queen,” who brings her annual holiday show, “Lettuce Rejoice!”, featuring her patented blend of poised characters, startling satire and original music, to Club Helsinki Hudson on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at 7pm.

About Holidelic

Part dance party, part funk concert, part comedy show, the Yuletide-themed event features original holiday songs as well as loose, funk-infused adaptations of Tchaikovsky, “Frosty the Snowman,” “Little Drummer Boy” and the like. This year’s theme is appropriately “DysFUNKtion.”

With Holidelic, Everett Bradley puts a fresh spin on holiday cheer, through lively holiday party tunes, outrageous costumes, and a theatrical stage show worthy of George Clinton’s Parliament-Funkadelic. There’ll be no “Silent Night” when Holidelic reinvigorates the season, prompting concertgoers to shake their holiday booties to Sly Stone-style funk ‘n’ roll. Ho-ho-ho.

Everett Bradley – aka Papadelic — was the first American to perform with and direct the British percussion sensation “STOMP.” He was also the co-writer, co-arranger, Theatre World Award winner and star of the hit musical, “SWING,” which won a Tony Award and was nominated for a Grammy for Best Broadway Cast Recording. Bradley has toured and recorded with giants like Bobby McFerrin, Jon Bon Jovi, David Bowie, and Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He is currently a member of the cast of the Broadway musical, “After Midnight,” which celebrates the glamor and exuberance of Harlem’s Golden Age.

About Hedda Lettuce

Hedda’s holiday cabaret includes such favorites as “Here Comes Tranny Clause,” about a mean tyrant that ruins Xmas; the classic song, “Sleigh Ride,” turned into a gay man’s quest for sex on Grinder; and “Do You Hear What I Hear” rendered as “Do You Think That He’s Queer,” about a fag hag desperately seeking a sexual relationship with a gay man.

Hedda Lettuce aka Steven Polito is a six-time Drag Queen of the Year award-winner from HX Magazine. She has appeared with the likes of Tyra Banks, Madonna, and Sarah Jessica Parker on such TV shows as “Project Runway,” “Sex and the City,” the “Tyra Banks Show” and “Ugly Betty,” and has appeared at such top city venues as Caroline’s on Broadway and the Metropolitan Room.

Hedda Lettuce studied fashion illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and was awarded the coveted Antonio Lopez Award for her artistic efforts.
