PITTSFIELD, MA (03-27-17) – – The Whitdiots, a Pittsfield-based improve troupe of seven local actors and musicians, has announced that its March show will be to benefit the Brien Center for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. The performance features improve comedy with audience participation, musical components, and other surprisesThe show will be Monday, March 27th at 7:00pm at the Whitney Center for the Arts, running about eighty minutes
Last month the Whitdiots raised $250 for the Berkshire Immigrant Center. “Because we want to pay it forward,” Whitdiots founding member Hana Kenny stated in an email to audience members, “with each show to come, we will be donating a large portion of our nightly proceeds to a local charity or organization in need. And just like when we’re onstage, we want your participation!” The Whitdiots’ fan base was asked to provide input as to which organizations in the community could use the donation the most. After many suggestions, the founding members of the Whitdiots decided on the BIC, and this month, on the Brien Center.
The cast of the Whitdiots includes Rikke Borge, Christopher Brophy, Meredith Hamilton, Anna Hirschbiel, Hana Kenny, Patrick Toole, and Hunter Washburne, with Cathy Shane-Lydon on piano. The Whitdiots perform every month at the Whitney, 42 Wendell Avenue in Pittsfield, MA. Their next show is April 10th.
Tickets will be available at the door on a pay-what-you-can basis. The suggested donation is $10, but you are welcome to donate more. Half of all proceeds which will go directly to the Brien Center.
