[CHATHAM, NY] – PS21: Performance Spaces for the 21st Century presents a series of exceptional dance and theater workshops for kids this spring. Held at Chatham’s Mary E. Dardess Elementary School, the workshops are free. Pre-registration is required.
“An important aspect our mission is to reach as many young people as possible and expose them to the joy and freedom that comes from sharing experiences in the performing arts,” said PS21 President Judy Grunberg. “To that end, we offer a variety of workshops to children and teens led by professional performers who love working with young people.”
WORKSHOPS FOR KIDS
Welcoming Summer Theater Arts and Nature Workshop
Four Consecutive Wednesdays May 3, 10, 17, 24, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Kids age 8-10 are invited to learn theater improv, storytelling, music, movement, and nature studies from professional actor Nancy Rothman and gardener Cait Denn. This free after-school program will be held at Chatham’s Mary E. Dardess Elementary School, 50 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham.
American Dance Styles with Vanaver Caravan Dance
Four Consecutive Wednesdays May 10, 17, 24, 31, 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Kids age 10-12 will learn a variety of American dance styles including clogging, swing, hip-hop and other social dances. Instructors for this program are members of the Vanaver Caravan, an exceptional Hudson Valley-based dance company/nonprofit organization that performs locally and internationally, and is committed to sharing their love of music and dance with children. This free after-school program will be held at Chatham’s Mary E. Dardess Elementary School, 50 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham.
