Bridge Street Theatre Seeking Actor for Concert Reading of New Musical

Looking for actors to participate in a concert reading of Coney Island, a
new musical with book, music, & lyrics by Frank Cuthbert. It’s the summer
of 1946 and Frankie’s back from the Pacific with big dreams of takin’ New
York by storm. All music and vocals for this reading are pre-recorded – no
singing talent necessary. Looking for actors for the following roles:

LOU – Owns Coney Island Cafe, 50, Italian immigrant

ZENA – Lou’s wife, 48, makes the best sauce in Brooklyn

FRANKIE – Older son, 23, handsome war hero, aspiring crooner

PATSY – Frankie’s love interest, 19, dancer, aspiring Rockette

JUNIOR – Younger son, 19, wise guy, street hustler

CARMELLA – Junior’s girlfriend, 18, smart, gum-chewing doll

NATHAN – Lou’s best friend, 50, operates Boardwalk Hot Dogs

HARRIET – Nathan?s wife, 45, Zena’s cynical, funny neighbor

SALLIE BOY – Sexy bad-boy, 30, club owner, Frankie’s rival

INKIE – Ageless midget, tattoo artist, bookie and narrator.

MICKEY SHELTON – Owner of the Starlight Lounge, 35, Sallie Boy’s partner

E.B. WORTHINGTON – Insurance executive, 60, urbane Manhattanite

BIXBY – Worthington’s boyfriend, personal assistant, 20s

JANIE – Worthington’s dedicated receptionist, 30s

ENSEMBLE – Tourists, carnies, hookers

NARRATOR – To read stage directions

To be presented on the Bridge Street Theatre Mainstage on Sunday afternoon
May 21 at 2:00pm. Two day commitment. One staging rehearsal at the theatre,
44 West Bridge Street in Catskill, 1:00-5:00pm Saturday May 20, possible
