Schenectady-based artist Lisa Beerle is presenting What Are You Looking For? (A Question Every Guy on Tinder Asks), a play based on her experiences as a newly-single young woman exploring the world of Tinder dating. The performance will take place at the Albany Barn, 56 2nd Street, Albany, on Saturday, July 1st at 6:00 p.m. Admission is $5 and tickets can be paid for at the door, or online at https://albanybarn.org.
The show is a creative interpretation of the seven dates Lisa went on during her three weeks on Tinder. Every “first date” is a mini-play in a sense: we act a certain way, we have props, lines (questions, prompts, brags), and costumes with make-up. Each date is presented as a small vignette, with actress Sarah Brady playing Lisa, and actor Conrad Browne Lorcher playing each of the seven men. The piece explores what it’s like for a 28-year-old female to date in the digital age – with experiences ranging from odd to creepy to intimate.
