CHATHAM, NY– Follow Dorothy and Toto as they are swirled by a tornado into a magical land in The Wizard of Oz at The Mac-Haydn Children’s Theatre, August 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19. The two are surrounded by mysterious characters and breathtaking challenges as they try to find their way back to Kansas in this exciting musical version of the beloved L. Frank Baum tale.
The Cowardly Lion, Tin Woodsman and Scarecrow try to help her as they each seek a way to overcome their own problems. Glinda, the Good Witch and the Wicked Witch each want Dorothy’s help, but for very different reasons. The Mighty Oz can help, but will he? The adventures Dorothy faces as she travels through Oz have been entertaining young and old alike for generations.
Emily Allen will play Dorothy, she was seen as the Sheriff’s Wife in Hi, Ho, Robin Hood and Caterpillar/Butterfly in The Trials of Alice In Wonderland in earlier Ma-Haydn Children’s Theatre shows. Marianna Chuddy will be her loved and loving companion Toto.
Kristen Ward plays Scarecrow, Colton Luckfield is The Cowardly Lion and Matthew Antalek is the Tin Woodsman.
Heather Damia will be Glinda, The Good Witch and Aunt Em; Erin Curry will play the Wicked Witch/Miss Gulch. The Mighty Oz will be played by Michael Dolan. Robert Burke and Dove Frishkoff will share the role of Henry.

Mac-Haydn Children’s Theatre shows perform on Friday and Saturday mornings at 10:30. Tickets are $10.00 for children of all ages.
