HRC Showcase Theatre Opens 27th Season with Reading of “Child of Lions”

HRC Showcase Theatre, the premier theatre company in the Hudson River Valley, dedicated solely to the staged readings of new plays, will open their 27th season on Saturday, October 14, 2017 with Child of Lions by Jared Michael Delaney. An American reporter, hearing a story that seems more folktale than fact, heads to Ethiopia to investigate its veracity. Upon arriving, he encounters things he did not expect, forcing him to face his past and embrace a future he can never be sure of. A Guide, a Police Sergeant, a local Warlord, a grief-stricken Father and a powerful and mysterious Woman all have a hand in his journey. And the lions, meanwhile, are waiting.

HRC Showcase Theatre’s Artistic Director, Barbara Waldinger, will lead a cast of professional actors.
